My Personal Missions
I love spreading the word that recovery is possible.
I know that even the strongest, smartest, and most successful people have endured difficult pasts, faced inner turmoil, and have what it takes to move forward. Psychology, technology, and the links between trauma and achievement also fascinate me.
My work is motivated by mental health success stories of survivors’ post-traumatic growth, high-achievers with anxiety and depression, and entrepreneurs with bipolar disorder and ADHD. I am inspired by people’s resilience and resourcefulness in managing distress.
Through my career change from tech marketing, I reclaimed my dream to become a therapist. While working in Silicon Valley and at Microsoft, I saw so many friends and co-workers struggling with depression, anxiety, hypomania, and trauma. Although research shows highly significant effectiveness rates for addressing these challenges, many don’t recognize their symptoms as mental health related or realize which clinicians could be most helpful for improving their well-being.
I founded Well Connected Now with the mission to rebrand mental health and make therapists more accessible. After personally matching hundreds of professionals and entrepreneurs with mentors, coaches, and therapists, I saw the broken mental health system firsthand.
Now an Associate Clinical Social Worker trained at Stanford and Columbia, I have the privilege of supporting clients of all races, ages, genders, and sexual orientations in their brave pursuit of self-improvement.
Lisa Abdilova Andresen, MSW
Associate Clinical Social Worker
My goal is to empower clients like you through a non-judgmental, empathetic, and strengths-based therapeutic alliance. In the spirit of evidence-based practice, I approach clinical challenges with the most effective research-backed methods recommended for your goals, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) (which focuses on your thoughts, feelings and behavior), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) (which provides skills training for emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and mindfulness), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) (which mobilizes your personal goals). I also enjoy analytically tracking your progress so we can objectively celebrate your improvements.
